Read the edition, not the poster
A detailed poster is not a video-quality label. Check the selected viewing service for the resolution supplied with the title, plan and device you use. Different offers for one film can have different maximum quality.
Sharpness is not everything
Resolution, compression, source material and motion all affect the image. A stable 1080p edition may suit your evening better than a repeatedly interrupted higher-resolution choice. Give an automatic-quality setting time to respond before forcing another change.
Match the room
For a large television, check the image from your usual seat. Confirm audio output and subtitle legibility at the same time. Those details can matter more than an impressive number in a menu. On a phone, screen size and connection limits may make a lower supported resolution entirely comfortable.
Change one thing
If buffering begins, pause competing transfers and test one supported quality change. Observe the result long enough to know whether it helped. An account or regional-availability message needs a different response and will not be repaired by reducing resolution.
